Jamina Clay-Dingle - Leadership Coach

Jamina Clay-Dingle joins PhillyPLUS after serving as Principal of Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary School in North Philadelphia. Jamina began her education career as an elementary and middle school teacher in Brooklyn and Queens, NY, and worked as a teacher leader in Westbury, NY before moving to Philadelphia in 2008. Since arriving in Philadelphia, Jamina has worked as an administrator in both the public and public charter learning environments. She  is a cohort 2 member of the prestigious Neubauer Philly Leadership Academy Fellowship sponsored by the Neubauer Foundation. She has a deep passion for equity driven education, with a social justice focus, and a belief that students should be exposed to a diverse staff of educators. Her work to increase the diversity of her staff led to the implementation of a focused and intentional recruitment plan that resulted in black male educators making up 31% of the staff at Bethune Elementary. This was the highest percentage in the city of Philadelphia and exceeded the national average of just 2%. Jamina holds a Bachelors of Arts in History and African American studies from the University of Delaware, and a Master of Education from Dowling College in New York. She received her administrative certification from Hofstra University.
