"PLUS provides you with both the theory and practice necessary in order to be an effective school leader. The real-time coaching and focus on authentic practice allows for you to seamlessly take what you have learned and apply it to your school."
I chose to become a PhillyPLUS Resident because I believe that all people deserve equality of opportunity. I want to collaborate with leaders in Philadelphia’s education system to close the achievement gap, which represents the most crucial barrier to giving our students the opportunities they deserve.
Prior to the residency, I worked as an Assistant Principal of Specialized Services with Mastery Charter Schools. In this capacity, I oversaw the implementation and planning of inclusion programming for students with special needs, social and mental health services, and the launch of Response to Instruction and Intervention programming. In the past, I served as a Special Education teacher with Teach for America - Kansas City. In this role I served as the Special Education Department Chair, the Team Leader for the Advanced Accreditation Standards for Quality School Teachers, Faculty Advisory Committee representative, and taught Homebound Instruction for students whose disabilities prevented regular attendance.
